Maze Book Prompts for Kids: Easy to Hard Mazes by Age
A maze book is the simplest activity book to sell and one kids return to again and again. These prompts set up a full maze book for each age band, with themed scenes around every maze and the right maze styles for the age. Use them to publish a maze series on KDP or print a stack for a rainy day.

Big, easy mazes where friendly animals find their way home: a puppy to its doghouse, a bee to a flower, a duckling to the pond, a squirrel to its acorn, a bunny to the carrot patch, a penguin to its family, a turtle to the sea, a hen to her nest, a fish to the coral, a mouse to the cheese. Each maze has a clear start animal and a goal, with simple garden, farm and seaside scenery around it.
Why it works: Parents of 3-5 year olds want a first maze book their child can finish without help, and a clear animal-to-home goal on every page makes that happen.

Fifty adventure mazes, each in a new place: a pirate island to the buried treasure chest, a jungle temple to a golden idol, a castle to the dragon's tower, a submarine through a coral reef, a knight through a hedge garden, a train through mountain tunnels, a robot through a factory, a rocket through an asteroid belt, a beaver through a river dam, a camel across desert dunes.
Why it works: A 50-maze book with a new adventure on every page is the bread-and-butter KDP maze product for 6-9, and black and white keeps the print cost low.

Sixty hard mazes for older kids, themed as escape missions: an ancient stone labyrinth, a city of rooftops and alleys, an underground mine with rail carts, a space station on lockdown, an ice cave, a spy getting out of a laser-guarded museum, a hedge maze at a royal palace, a sewer system, a volcano lair, a lost city in the clouds. Mazes get harder from the start of the book to the end.
Why it works: Tweens who breeze through kids' maze books want real challenge, and escape-mission themes make 60 hard mazes feel like a game rather than homework.

Tips for making a maze book
Wide tube mazes suit ages 3-6; round mazes are hard to follow at that age and are never drawn for that band.
Give each maze a start and a goal in the brief (a puppy and its doghouse) so kids know what they are solving for.
Mix two or three maze styles in a big book; a whole book of one style feels repetitive by page 20.
Make your own maze book
Start from one of these prompts or write your own. InkChamps turns it into a print-ready PDF.
